Our Approach to Custom Home Remodels

Quality

The mark of true quality is not just evident when a project is complete but should be evident throughout the entire building process. TCC’s commitment to quality is accomplished through multiple avenues including hiring excellent skilled Trade Partners, using the best materials available, and by setting consistent expectations for the staff, homeowners, and all those involved. As a result, we consistently produce quality work, and we pride ourselves on a low call back percentage. That being said, should the occasional issue arise, we’re ready and willing to mobilize and make right what isn’t.

Integrity

Building trust throughout the project is vitally important to the staff at TCC. We want homeowners to know that we will be people of our word and that we do what we say. Developing a reputation for honesty and integrity takes hard work in a field so damaged by dishonest business practices. To accomplish this, we strive to maintain open lines of communication throughout the building process, keeping our homeowners aware every step of the way. We are not perfect and never will be; however, our desire to do the “right thing” will remain consistent no matter what.

Meet the Team

Todd Christian

Todd has always had a love for great architecture and beautiful design and finds it very fulfilling to be in a market that values and appreciates the quality work he delivers. In 2004, he joined a prominent custom home builder, Steven J. Koenig, as a superintendent. The company constructed high end custom homes on prestigious Kiawah Island. Todd quickly proved himself and became a project manager who managed the construction from start to finish and coordinated all aspects between architects, homeowners, designers, and subcontractors.  His career with Steve culminated with Todd being hand selected to manage the construction of a 12,000 sf custom home in Mount Pleasant for a successful retired entrepreneur.

He formed Todd Christian Construction in 2012 was with a focus on the Lowcountry’s remodeling market versus new home construction. Todd provides his clients with a superb customer experience and high-quality craftsmanship. He loves working with homeowners to develop and execute a vision to renew and redeem rooms that are old, worn out or poorly designed. When he isn’t working, Todd loves to spend time with his wife, Lisa, and their three children. Todd enjoys tackling remodeling projects at his own home, playing golf and going on mission trips to amazing countries all over the world.

Karen Christian-Long

Karen is Todd’s sister and thinks it is amazing that she gets to work with her brother. Like him, Karen’s desire to be in this industry was cultivated as a young child while watching her parents work as a team to design and build homes. She loves working in a family atmosphere where she knows that her ideas are always appreciated and respected. Before working for Todd Christian Construction, she spent 15 years in the legal field where she honed her skills of multitasking and running an office to ninja perfection. As the “Design & Selections Wrangler” of TCC, she gets to work one-on-one with the clients to further understand their vision. Karen knows how to guide the conversation and help get the creative juices flowing.

Outside of work, Karen loves spending time with her husband, Chris, and their two boys, Ethan and Brady. She loves live music and dancing… the funkier, the better! Her family’s sanctuary is the beach which revives her when she is feeling drained. Karen is most at peace when her toes are in the sand while watching her boys surf, laughing with her weekend beach tribe of friends or hunting for shark’s teeth with her husband. Their record is 76 in one day!

GILL SIZER

Gill joined the TCC team as Job Superintendent in 2020 after years with a local company that focuses on new residential construction. He got involved in the industry at a young age thanks to a neighbor in his hometown of Mount Pleasant, and he has been hooked ever since! His position at Todd Christian Construction has given Gill the opportunity to oversee remodels for the first time. He enjoys the challenges of renovations and the ability to work on four to five projects at once. After selections are made, Gill works closely with Todd to determine and manage schedules. Seeing a project from start to finish gives him a sense of accomplishment, and he likes that he can see the process each day as he oversees orders, crews, and budgets.

Gill likes to hunt, fish, and play golf when he’s not at work. He also enjoys watching South Carolina football and spending time with his girlfriend and chocolate lab.

ADAM BAILEY

Adam started at Todd Christian Construction in August of 2022. As the Project Development Coordinator, he works closely with Todd to determine the materials and Trade Partners needed to be ready for construction as well as the corresponding budget. Adam brings a mixture of finance, real estate, and sales experience to TCC. Over the years, he has found he is well suited for a project management role due to his good organizational skills and strength in managing budgets and timelines. He thinks its cool that he gets to be a part of Todd’s beautiful renovations and home additions in the Charleston area.

Adam grew up on James Island and married his wife Jamie last year. They recently had a beautiful baby girl named Lizbeth. When he isn’t at work or with his family, Adam enjoys music, playing golf, or cheering on Clemson and the Panthers.
